Price and risk

What it costs, and who it’s not for.

Everyone else makes you book a call to hear a number. Here is the commercial side of it — including the list of people we would rather turn away.

The only pricing question worth asking is how many extra booked jobs a month it takes to cover the fee.

The audit call works it out from your ticket and call volume. Minutes in — a number, not a deck.

  • There is no card field anywhere on this site. We don’t take payment details on a website.
  • Nothing to sign up for here. The audit comes first, and it costs nothing either way.
  • If the arithmetic doesn’t work at your call volume, we’ll say so on that call.

We don’t offer a performance guarantee. Too new to measure one honestly. When the months exist, we’ll publish them.

The pilot

30 days.

If after 30 days you’ve had no captured leads, no booked calls and nothing useful in the reports, you’re not obligated to continue.

  • No long-term contract to start, and none to leave.
  • Cancel by emailing hello@heyfirstcall.com.
  • Your hours, your service area, your rules — set before your number ever points at us.

Fit

This is not for everybody.

We’d rather lose the sale here than on the third call. Read the “not for you” list first.

This is for you if

  • You spend money on leads every month — Angi, Google, Facebook, a broker, doesn’t matter who.
  • You’re doing more than about 50 leads a month and you can’t say what happened to all of them.
  • There are hours in your week when nobody can pick up, because there are.
  • Someone in your office is currently answering the phone with a wrench in their other hand.
  • You’ve already checked your call log and you didn’t like what you found.

This is not for you if

  • You’re a one-truck operation. You’ll answer your own phone cheaper and better than we will. Come back when the phone starts beating you.
  • You do 10 to 20 leads a month. There isn’t enough leak to pay for a fix. Anyone who tells you otherwise is selling.
  • You don’t spend anything on leads. Nothing here gets you more of them. This only makes the ones you’re already paying for go further.
  • You’re shopping for the cheapest AI phone thing. There are $39 ones, and some are fine. Go buy one.
  • You want a guarantee that this makes you money. We don’t have one — and you shouldn’t trust anyone in this category who does.
  • You want it live tomorrow with no input from you. Your hours, your rules, your emergencies — vague answers build a receptionist that embarrasses you.
  • You need a vendor with a long track record. We’re new. You would be one of our first customers. If that’s a problem it should be a problem — go buy from someone with a wall of logos and pay for the wall.

If you’re still in the left column, the audit is free and takes one short call.

Straight answers

The questions we actually get asked.

Is this a person or a robot?

A robot, and it says so. It’s an A.I. voice. If a caller asks whether they’re talking to a person, it tells them plainly that it’s an A.I. voice — it’s built never to deny it. Call (314) 784-8835 and hear it for yourself before you decide how you feel about that.

What happens when it gets something wrong?

It can misunderstand a caller. Every one of these can, and anyone telling you otherwise is selling. So it’s built to hand off rather than guess: urgent, sensitive or upset callers transfer to your on-call number, and when it doesn’t know something it says the team will follow up instead of making something up. Every call is recorded and transcribed, and once a month we go through the ones that went badly and fix the script.

Does it answer as my company, or as yours?

Yours. Your business name, your greeting, your hours, your service area, your rule about quoting over the phone. The demo line answers as “Ava” because it’s a demo. Your callers never hear our name.

Will it book straight into my calendar?

It books the way you tell it to — into a calendar, as a callback request, or by texting the caller a booking link. It does not write into your CRM. That isn’t built yet and we’re not going to say it is.

Who takes over when a call needs a human?

You do, or whoever is on call. Urgent calls transfer to the number you give us, right then, while the caller is still on the line — not as a message you read later. Our team isn’t US-based and doesn’t staff a live transfer desk, so we don’t offer human transfer to us. The human at the end of an urgent call is yours.

How much is it?

You get a number on the audit call, priced against your call volume and your average ticket, in the first few minutes. There’s no card field anywhere on this site and nothing to sign up for here.

How long does setup take?

We won’t quote a date, because we haven’t run enough of these to promise one and keep it. What happens instead: you give us your hours, service area, services, what counts as urgent, and where bookings go. We write the script and test it. You listen to test calls and tell us what’s wrong. We fix it. Then your number points at it — not before you’ve signed off.

Do I have to change my phone number?

No. You keep your number.

Find out where your leads are going.

One short call. We go through where your leads come in, how fast they get answered now, what happens after six, how many times anyone follows up, and what happens to the calls nobody picks up. You get the list back either way.

No charge, no card, no contract. If we’re not a fit we’ll say so on the call — and you still keep the list.

We’ll call you

Leave your number.

One of us calls you back — a person, not a sequence. The bot is the demo line, and you can dial that yourself any time on (314) 784-8835.

This goes to a person, not a mailing list. No card, no contract.
