Every other version of this starts by losing the call.
Missed call text back is an apology with a form attached. The phone rang, nobody picked up, and a robot texts to say sorry — which is a better outcome than silence and a much worse one than answering. We do it the other way round: the call gets answered in about a second and a half, and the text goes out only when there is genuinely nobody left on the line.
Hear it before you read another word. Dial (314) 784-8835. It is an A.I. voice, it answers for several kinds of business, and it does not assume yours — say “I run a business” and it will take the call the way your front desk would, including the call itself, answered rather than apologised for. Or tell it what a typical call sounds like for you and let it answer that. The demo has no calendar or text line behind it, so it takes the job and hands it on; yours books and confirms.
The call you are not there for.
A water heater has gone at 19:40 and the caller is working down the Google results. Yours rings four times. At the fifth he hangs up and taps the next listing — and forty seconds later your text arrives, asking how you can help, for a job that is already being booked by somebody else.
Three calls a business gets, and what happens to them.
What it gets out of the caller.
- 01
Whether the call actually connected, which decides if a text should be sent at all
- 02
The caller's number, which is the one thing a hang-up does leave behind
- 03
What the job is, when the call did connect, so the follow-up is not a blank greeting
- 04
Which replies came back by text, kept with the call rather than in a separate inbox
Why a general answering service loses this call.
- 01
It treats the apology as the product.
A text saying sorry we missed you is worth more than nothing, and much less than a voice. The caller with water coming through a ceiling is already dialling the next company by the time the message lands. Selling the recovery instead of the answer is selling the consolation prize.
- 02
It fires on calls that were answered.
A tool wired to the phone system and not to the conversation cannot tell a two-ring hang-up from a four-minute booking, so customers get an apology for a call that went perfectly. It reads as a system that is not paying attention, because it is not.
- 03
It texts from a number nobody recognises.
A shortcode or a pool number arriving cold, seconds after someone rang a local business, is indistinguishable from spam. It has to come from a registered sending number that belongs to the business, which is a setup step with a lead time, not a switch.
- 04
It starts a conversation nobody is watching.
The text goes out, the caller replies, and the reply lands in an inbox the team does not have open. A recovery that nobody answers is a second missed call, with a written record of it.
What it costs.
There is no published price yet. The first five businesses run it free for thirty days, with no card; before day thirty we tell you the monthly price, and you decide whether to keep it.
Questions businesses ask.
Does it text on every missed call?
No — only when the call did not connect. If the assistant answered and took the job, there is nothing to apologise for and no text goes out. That distinction is the point: most tools sold under this name cannot make it, because they are wired to the phone system rather than to the conversation.
What do I need for the texting to work?
A US sending number registered for 10DLC on the carrier account, connected during setup. It is US to US only, and registration has a lead time, so it is a setup step rather than something that switches on the same afternoon. The line itself works from day one; the texting follows once the number is registered.
Can I try it on your demo number?
No, and not because it is being held back. Both numbers on the demo account are platform-issued, and platform numbers cannot send SMS at all. The demo line shows you the part that matters most — the call being answered and the details being taken. The texting is wired per customer, to your own registered number.
Is texting someone who just called me allowed?
Texting a person who has just rung your business is a reply, and that is the only case this is set up for — outbound goes to people who called you or opted in, never to a list. Every message identifies the business it is from.
What happens when they text back?
The reply reaches your team with the call it belongs to, rather than sitting in a separate inbox somebody has to remember to open. A recovery nobody answers is just a second missed call with a written record of it.
Built for the call your trade actually gets.
A burst pipe, a knocked-out tooth and a conflict check are not the same call and cannot share one script. Each of these is the same service with the questions your callers are actually asked.
